In connection with the State School Kolotsavam held at Kozhikode from January 9 to 15 the Student Police Cadets was formed in Kozhikode City in the initiation of Kozhikode City Police. Student Police Cadets is consisting 760 students including both boys and girls from 14 schools in Kozhikode City.

The Cadets have given separate training in the fields of Bomb disposal, First Aid, Fire and Safety, Parade, Traffic regulation and crowd control. For this purpose a team of Bomb Squad, Doctors and Staff, Fire Station Officers and Police personnel were deployed. During the first schedule, 100 students had given training. On completion of the first phase the strength was doubled and a team of about 200 students were trained as a batch. During the training period they have given food and refreshments and traveling facilities in police vehicles. Later the entire Student Police Cadets were formed as a single unit and after giving practice they performed route march.

They have issued uniform and cap. Their services were utilized in 16 different venues of Kalotsavam and also in the roads for traffic regulation along with police personnel. The performance of Student Police Cadets during the State School Kalotsavam is very much appreciated by public and media.
